Many groups organize wonderful military care packages during the holiday season. But for many soldiers serving overseas, the post-holiday season can be a return to the harsh realities of military life without daily contact from friends and family.
Before they were famous, many truly influential men and women started by serving their country in the US military or grew up in military families.

Don't Wait to Say Thanks

Holidays are a time of comfort, love, and appreciation. We look forward the warmth of a fire on a cold December night, returning home to indulge in childhood comforts, holiday bonuses and signs of appreciation at the workplace. We stop to remember the things that are truly important that we might not take time to appreciate in the hectic pace of everyday living.

But for soldiers serving abroad, the luxuries of home are not readily available, even though they are serving the home we all share: our country. Servicemembers overseas are constantly tested physically and emotionally, and facing these challenges without the presence of family.

MILITARY THANKS ALL YEAR ROUND

Why wait for a holiday to send expressions of thanks to US soldiers? Why not send a card to the troops just to show your support?

The answer is LetsSayThanks.com, a site started by Xerox whereby anyone can send an online postcard to a U.S. soldier stationed overseas, free of charge. Another popular site is www.give2thetroops.org, The cards on both these sites were designed by children all over the country, and have been sent to uplift millions of troops.

SEND YOUR SUPPORT

It's easy, free, and only takes a minute of your time to boost the morale of the military men and women who need it most. Go online right now and follow the simple steps to send a soldier a personalized card of gratitude. It will be a gift for yourself as well; sharing your appreciation makes you stop and realize how fortunate you really are. Our soldiers need more emotional support to remind them why they are serving our country. They need to know that we are thanking them every day for the privilege of being American citizens.
