Planning financially for your most comfortable military retirement is complex; managing your military retirement pay is a lot easier thanks to myPay, the financial tool that allows military retirees to manage military retirement pay efficiently.
Military myPay allows you to make instant changes to your pay account information through the Internet, rather than waiting in long lines at the base pay office. Military retirees can also access the myPay system 24/7, anytime and anywhere from the comfort of your own home to traveling overseas.
WHAT KIND OF MONEY MANAGEMENT TOOLS DOES MYPAY OFFER?
myPay brings money management into focus during your retirement, by allowing you to see your last two Retiree Account Statements and your current IRS 1099-R.
Military retirees can also start, stop, or change Federal tax withholding status and exemptions, state tax, allotments (electronic fund transfer- EFT payment only), and bonds. You can also update your mailing address, and financial information (such as electronic fund transfer information).
Another helpful service within myPay is a notification when your payment information gets processed, giving you control and ability to fix possible late deadlines if information isn't properly received.
HOW DO I GET A MYPAY PIN?
As a military service member, if you did not already have a myPay PIN before retirement, then shortly thereafter a letter will be sent to you with a pre-assigned PIN.
You can then use the PIN and your Social Security Number to access the Automated Voice Response System or myPay online. After entering your information, you will have 30 days to change your PIN to a personal numerical code, either on the phone or online, or your system will be deactivated.
IS MY INFORMATION SAFE IN MYPAY?
myPay is highly protected from identity theft and hacking, military retirees use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and their Social Security Number to access all pay account information.
myPay is a productive money management tool for military service members. You can access myPay through your person computer via the Internet; through the toll-free telephone number 1-877-363-3677 or commercial telephone number (478) 757-3119.
